Take a look at bandstand plans
Redditch Borough Council is now asking for
views on proposed landscaping improvements to the town’s Church
Green bandstand area.
Comments are being invited on proposals to
open up around the bandstand to improve the space for events after
plans were agreed in principle by the council’s Executive Committee
in December.
The plans are on display at www.redditchbc.gov.uk/towncentre
and all the council’s customer service centres from today (Feb 13),
and will be open for comments for just over four weeks until Friday
March 15.
Changes to the area around the bandstand and
fountain, which were drawn up by council officers after feedback
from the Bandstand Festival last September, currently include:
- adding cycle stands
- adding a disabled access ramp
- creating more space for people to stand during events by
relocating shrubs and flower beds
Leader of Redditch Borough Council Cllr Bill
Hartnett said: “The plan is to make some changes to the landscaping
of the bandstand area that will help bring it into regular use,
while preserving the beauty of the area, ahead of a series of
summer events that will be held there. This is how we think it
could be done. If you have a view on the plans we’d like to hear
it, and now is the time to let us know.”
If you would like to comment on the plans
please send comments by the closing date of March 15 to towncentre@redditchbc.gov.uk
or by post to Lyndsey Berry, Town Hall, Walter Stranz Square,
Redditch B98 8AH.
Comments from the consultation will be fed
back to the Executive Committee if any are significant, before the
plans are then finalised.
