Redditch Goes Four Gold

Redditch Borough Council has proved to have gold-fingers after scooping top marks for the fourth year running in the Heart of England in Bloom Awards.

The gold award was given to the Council earlier today by judges at a ceremony in Shrewsbury.

Judges visited the Borough in July where they took in Church Green, Where Next Nursery, Forge Mill Museum, Arrow Valley Park, and Headless Cross Green. They had lunch with the campaign sponsors and key town representatives at the Palace Theatre.

Portfolio-holder for Environment Cllr Debbie Taylor said: “While receiving this gold award for the fourth year running is absolutely fabulous, you only have to look at the Borough to see that we really keep going from strength to strength when it comes to making it bloom.

“Once again the hard work of all staff and members, despite dwindling Government grants, has paid off and, as well as winning a national award, we have created a beautiful Borough for everyone to enjoy and be proud of."
