Parks and Open Spaces
There’s a variety of green
and open spaces within Redditch; well known Parks and
Woodlands along with hidden gems such as Oakenshaw
Spinney.
There are two major parks in the
Borough, Arrow Valley Country Park and Morton Stanley Park. In 2009
both parks received the prestigious Green Flag
Award
administered by Keep Britain Tidy and
awarded in recognition of the quality of green spaces and their
management. Both parks play host to events and activities, the
majority of which are free.

The Countryside Centre at Arrow Valley Country Park
has toilet facilities and a café. It is also a fantastic
venue for meetings and conferences |

The Morton Stanley Family Fun Day held annually has now grown
into the Morton Stanley Festival with live music from local
regional bands. The festival is a free event and is hosted by
Redditch Borough Council. It is supported by a host of
partners and allows local organisations and charities to raise
awareness of their work. For more information on 2010's
Festival, contact the Landscape & Countryside Section on

Bordesley Abbey meadows grazed by
traditional English Long Horn cattle and Moons Moat are examples of
green spaces that have a direct link to our heritage and provide a
connection to the past.
Using your green spaces on a
regular basis can not only help to keep you fit and active but is
also proven to benefit your general well being.
**Please
note**
In all green spaces we ask that
dogs are kept under control and in some areas be kept on a lead
ensuring the enjoyment of other users. Please look out for
signs in areas where dogs must be kept on a lead.
