You can now recycle thick card, more types of plastics and waxed cartons in your green wheeled bins. 

Your recycling is now being taken to a new facility near Worcester called Envirosort

Please look on the envirosort website for more details on where your recycling goes. www.envirosort.co.uk

If you need a larger green bin or second green bin please contact us on 01527 534123 or email us at contact.centre@redditchbc.gov.uk

Please be advised that residents are being asked if they want a larger green bin in the first instance rather that 2 standard size bins, due to possible space restrictions on the resident's property, but our Contact Centre will be happy to discuss your arrangements with you.

For properties not yet on alternate weekly collections please contact us (on 01527 534123 or email us at contact.centre@redditchbc.gov.uk as your collection day/schedules are specific to your close/street and as we are in the process rolling out recycling to all properties and improving waste collection systems, this can be subject to change.

Bulky Items Collection Service

Redditch Borough Council offer a collection service for bulky household items, which are items you would generally take with you if you moved house. The cost is £15.30 for up to three large items such as a three piece suite, or unwanted household furniture/large household appliances, with an additional charge of £4.10 per item up to a maximum of 6 items.  To book a collection call 01527 534123, with your debit or credit card to hand. Alternatively any of the council's neighbourhood offices or Town Hall can accept cards, cheque or cash.

Examples of what we can take:
Cookers, Carpets, Dishwashers, Hoovers, Mattresses, Tables, Settees, Televisions, Wardrobes (free standing), Washing Machines, Bedbases, Bicycles, Fridges and Freezers.

Examples of what we can not take:
Business and Commercial Waste, Builder's Waste, Fitted Kitchen Units, DIY Waste, Roofing Materials, Sink Units, Sheds, W.C.s, Gas Bottles.

Alternatively, if your household items such as furniture are re-usable, please consider using a re-use charity such as 'Boomerang' based in South Street, they can be contacted on 01527 68250. 

You can also find a number of companies who will remove and responsibly dispose of your bulky waste for you in the Yellow Pages, but please ensure that they have a valid Waste Carriers Licence. this information can be located via this link  www.environment-agency.gov.uk/publicregisters

Assisted Waste Collection service

If you are struggling to manage with a wheeled bin please call the Contact Centre to be considered to be put onto the assisted collection service (01527) 534123.

Orange Sack Service

However, should you find that, on occasion you have too much refuse for your wheeled bin, you can purchase pre-paid orange sacks at £1.50 each (this includes the cost of collection). PLEASE NOTE that we will only collect up to two orange sacks per grey bin collection week. We are unable to collect orange sacks on recycling bin weeks.
