Household Waste Collection
Alternate weekly waste collections have been in place
for the majority of the town since March 2007. Thanks to the
efforts of residents the scheme has been a great success as we are
now recycling twice as much as we used to - for example in 09/10
30% of all the waste created in Redditch was sent for
recycling.

If you live in a flat, sheltered complex or do not yet have
green boxes or bins, we will be rolling out this service and
contacting you to best discuss how we can provide you with a
kerbside recycling system. For residents who don't have a
kerbside recycling collection there are various recycling bring
sites all over Redditch where you can take your
recyclables. Take me to the recycling centres page...

A new improved recycling
system began in January 2010 and residents can now
recycle more items in their green recycling bins including: cartons
e.g juice and milk cartons, plastic containers e.g. yoghurt pots
and margarine tubs, thick cardboard including corrugated
cardboard.
This is due to the opening of a new
sorting facility in Norton, Worcestershire where all of the
recycling collected in the green recycling bins is taken for
sorting.
Please check out the website http://www.envirosort.co.uk/
for more information on the new items we will be
collecting.
