Pretty awful.... Flytipping Campaign 2012

We are running an anti flytipping campaign from January -March 2012 to try and reduce the number of flytipping incidents we get year on year in our borough.

Look out for new banners on our refuse vehicles when you are out and about and always be vigilant when you suspect someone of flytipping or acting suspiciously with a vehicle loaded with rubbish.

We will be sending out information to all businesses in Redditch about their responsibilities with rubbish to ensure it does not pass into the hands of an illegal waste carrier.

We will also be carrying out random spot checks on businesses to see if they have the legal documents proving they have a trade waste contract in place, anyone that doesnt may be liable to a £300 fine.

How you can help...

If you hire anyone that takes away waste from your home (plumber, gardener, builder etc..) you need to make sure they are registered to do so.  If they dump your waste you can be held liable for the fine.

To find a registered waste carrier see the link below or ask for their licence number and give the Environment Agency a call on telephone  08708 506 506.

Please take me to the Environment agency waste carriers page www

If you witness a flytipping incident you should:

  • Record details of any vehicle involved, especially the registration number
  • Record descriptions of the people involved
  • Record the time and date of the incident
  • Record the location, type and amount of waste

Give us a call in the contact centre and we will pass the details onto the enforcement officers, information is always kept confidential. telephone  01527 534123

Remember never put yourself in danger by touching the waste or tackling someone who is dumping the waste.
