Changes to the Redditch Borough Council Allocations Policy
On 6th September 2007 Redditch Borough
Council launched our Choice Based Lettings system, which allows
applicants to place bids on both Council and Registered Social
Landlord housing stock in order to secure accommodation. After 12
months of this scheme being launched the Council’s elected members
requested a review be carried out to see which parts of the system
were working and which needed amending.
As a result of the review process, we
will be changing the way that we award points to children living in
flats. As of 1st September 2009 children under the age
of 10 that are living in a flat on any floor will receive 15
points, which are additional to any other points that the household
may have already been awarded. This will only be awarded once per
household and will not increase if there is more than one child
under 10 in the family.
