Private SectorSheltered Housing

We provide a range of support and housing options for older people.  If you want to retain your independence, a smaller easier to manage self-contained flat could suit you.

Advantages of Sheltered Housing

Sheltered Housing is a good option to consider, there are a choice of schemes across the district and with more accommodation available for older people than ordinary housing there is more chance of an offer.

  • 'Sheltered' environments allow you to retain your independence while living amongst people with similar lifestyles.
  • Self contained studio flats, 1 bedroom flats and bungalows.  Those willing to accept a studio flat can find themselves housed more quickly.
  • Many schemes provide laundry facilities, a residents lounge, garden and guest rooms.
  • There are also communal facilities in many of the schemes where events and activities are organized.
