Young People

Young People are important to Redditch Borough Council. They are identified in Redditch's Community Strategy (under 'Connecting Redditch'). The Council has a commitment to address the changing needs of young people as a priority and this is our aim within the Corporate Plan 2003-2006. We are:

  • Addressing the gaps in Youth Provision
  • Acting on the recommendations coming out from the recent consultation exercise undertaken with young people across the Borough (20:20 Young People's Vision Conference Report).
  • Publishing and distributing a Youth Service Directory .

In order to support this, the Council has dedicated a post to young people (Youth Strategy Officer) and a Police Officer is seconded as a Youth and Community Safety Officer housed within the Community Safety Team. This is to ensure that services delivered directly by the Council complement those delivered by other agencies. For more information please Contact us

Youth Strategy Group

The Council is also represented and takes a key role within the Redditch Youth Strategy Group which brings together all statutory and voluntary sector young peoples service providers to share and review service delivery taking into account national and local agendas.
