Redditch Borough Council is currently consulting on their Taxi Licensing Handbook  (5.35 MB) - A guide for new applicants, existing Operators, Vehicle Owners and Drivers of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicles.

The Guide has been written by Licensing Officers to provide consistent advice within the county of Worcestershire. It is written to advise both new applicants and existing licence holders.

This Guide is not exhaustive, and if you are in any doubt please refer to the legislation which can be found in the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, The Transport Act 1985, Driver Vehicle Licensing Agency, Local Byelaws and Licence conditions.
