Food complaint - Food Safety
If you would like to make a food complaint
You are suggested to record your complaints with Environmental Health at Redditch Borough Council, relating to food you have consumed or purchased, in particular, complaints involving:
- Microbial & Chemical contamination - food poisoning, souring, mouldy food etc.
- Physical contamination - hair, glass, metal etc.
- Food sold outside of its date code.
Why are customer complaints important?
There are a number of reasons why taking notice of customer complaints can be important:
- They are a good way of monitoring the quality of food.
- They help in assessing the quality of suppliers.
- Complaints help to stop mistakes being repeated in future.
How to record your food complaints
A - If you have decided to write to us then please ensure that you include the following information within your letter/email.
- Your name and address
- Nature of the complaint
- Name and address of the premises from which you purchased or consumed food
- Date and time food purchased / consumed
- In the case of packaged food, please mention the information given on the packaging, including any names and addresses, use by or best before dates and any manufacturer codes (if possible keep the packaging).
