The Arrow Valley Countryside Centre is an excellent local educational resource, alternatively, Bishops Wood Environmental Educational Centre is a great resource for teachers – visit their website.

Guide for School Fete's/Events - How to make your event less wasteful

Below are a number of hints and tips for the keen recycler - thank you to everyone who has suggested ideas and please keep them coming!

If you have a number of items left over at the end of the day please do not just throw them away - many people would be glad to have them, or they may be recyclable.

• Charity Shops - clothes, books, bric a brac etc. will be gladly accepted by your local charity shop
• Textiles which are unsuitable for re-use can be taken to any of the textile banks at recycling centres in Redditch where they will be sorted into either reusable items, or shredded and used as rags/made into emergency blankets.
• Cardboard Boxes and Hardback books which are unsuitable for re-use can be recycled in the green paper banks in Recycling Centres across Redditch, and at some schools. Raffle tickets can also be recycled this way.
• Electrical items - please see the electrical recycling webpage (accessible from the homepage)
• Consider asking people to take their cans/plastic bottles home with them for recycling.
