NEWS!

Solar panels are now installed on the Town Hall roof - our first major project to improve our sustainability performance...

we are currently working on an action plan to ensure the Council becomes more sustainable and fulfils its commitments under the Nottingham Declaration. We will be consulting with our partners in 2008-10. If you wish to be consulted on this please email me on ceridwen.john@redditchbc.gov.uk

Redditch Borough Council is committed to promoting sustainability wherever possible, in order to improve and maintain the area in which we live and work not only for the residents of today but also for those in the future.

How to ‘do your bit’!

  • Can you volunteer some time to help?
  • Join your Neighbourhood Group
  • Start a Neighbourhood Watch Group
  • Buy locally produced, organic produce wherever possible. Look out for a farmers market near you!
  • Support your local shops and businesses
  • Turn off lights and other appliances
  • Use energy saving light bulbs
  • Put a brick in your loo!
  • Save water by using a water butt to collect rainwater
  • Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth
  • Buy recycled products
  • Recycle as much of your waste as you can
  • Say NO to plastic bags!
  • Try composting
  • Use real nappies
  • Don’t forget to poop-scoop after your dog!
  • Be kind to wildlife
