Since returning to Market Place last year, the lively atmosphere of Redditch Market has brought the Town Centre back to life. The number and variety of stalls has grown, supported by increasing numbers of shoppers keen to experience a proper street market. Framed by the traditional splendour of St. Stephen's Church, and the Needles contemporary art feature, Redditch Market embodies the perfect mix of old and new.

Selling everthing from locally produced fruit, veg and meat, electrical spares, pet supplies, haberd ashery and latest fashions, Redditch Market has as one trader puts it, 'bags of choice'.

For those who find that shopping works up an appetite, there's the chance to indulge in a baked potato from the Spud Hut, or a legendary hot sandwich from Bob and Hazel's.

Traders at Redditch Market pride themselves on providing quality service. Jackie Hope is a regular customer of the market and says, "Redditch hasn't got a  ‘big shopping shop’in the town centre, so the market stalls are my mainstay for shopping during the week.”

Jackie uses a powered wheelchair from the town’s Shopmobility scheme, and finds that the friendly, personal service offered by the market traders makes shopping a pleasure, “The traders are very wheelchair aware. They’ll take the time to hang your shopping on the back, and give you exactly

what you need- even if it’s just two carrots!” “The traders are all really friendly, and take the trouble to know me by name. A visit to the market is like chatting to old friends.” If it’s been a while since you last visited Redditch Market, you may be surprised by how much it has changed.
