How Does the One Stop Shop works

When you Visit the One Stop Shop you will see a reception desk and a One Stop Shop waiting area.

Approach the reception desk where an Advisor may be able to help you with a quick enquiry, if not they will tell you where you need to go. The One Stop Shop at the Town Hall has a ticket dispenser if you know you will need to see an advisor simply take a ticket from the machine and wait to be called.

We have a fast trak system; so if you are waiting a Customer Service Adviser will ask what you have come for today and if it is an enquiry which does not require us to check data on systems your enquiry will be dealt with immediatly.

If you cannot wait we you can make an appointment to come at a time suitable for you and reception can make this appointment for you in any One Stop Shop.

What are the One Stop Shop Advisors?

All One Stop Shop Advisors are in uniform and wear name badges so it is easy for you to identify who is available to help you. It’s their job to put you first and make your dealings with the council as simple as possible. They are specially trained to do this, and to make sure you are happy with the service you’ve received.

What happens if I'm not happy?

If you're not happy with anything the council has or has not done you can make a formal complaint - leaflets are available in our main reception area. If you are still not happy with the way we've dealt with the complaint you can take the matter up with the Local Government Ombudsman - we can issue you with the forms to do this.

How do I find out more?

It's always nice to have compliments, too, so if you're pleased with the way we've dealt with you - please tell us! If you want to talk to someone about any of the One Stop Shops, please ask to speak to the One Stop Shop Team leader, Lynn Jones. If she can't see you immediately staff will take your details and arrange for her to contact you. You can also write to her at the Town Hall or telephone her on (01527) 64252 ext 3851 or email.
