Skate ParkRedditch Skatepark is one of the UK’s largest outdoor community skateparks which opened in the year 2000 catering for Skateboarding, BMX biking and In-line Skating from the beginner to the professional user. The park boasts a series of ramps such a street ramp course that consists of quarter pipes, bowls a jumpbox, wall- ride ramp, volcano ramp and grind rails. There is a halfpipe, a large spine ramp course and a new beginner section.
The park has been designed by the local skaters and BMX bikers. It is managed by a charity called the Redditch Wheels Project who work in partnership with Redditch Borough Council who has donated over £100,000 towards the project. It is supervised with first aid facilities.
There are regular events and competitions every year that are organised by and involve young people. The Skatepark sometimes changes and adds new ramp equipment to keep up with the progressive nature of these sports and to keep the users interested. The Skatepark is visited by some of the worlds greatest BMXers and skaters, featured in national magazines and on television.
The skatepark is open on a seasonal basis from the beginning of March to the end of October weather permitting.
