Let's Grow with Nisha and Joe
New Resource to Support Sex and Relationship Education for Primary Age Pupils
The FPA hopes that primary schools which have shied away from sex and relationships education will use the booklet as a basis for lessons and encourage parents to talk to their children about what will happen to their bodies as they grow up.
In this comic, Nisha, Joe and their dog gently introduce 6–7 year olds to the concepts of growth and physical change, using reassuring stories and pictures. The comic also helps children explore their relationships with friends and family. The comic is packed with activities to encourage children to find out more about themselves and to help them personalise their copy. It comes with Teachers’ guidance notes.

Managing Change - Transition from primary to secondary school for Year 6 pupils
This resource addresses the issue of change via pupils’ transition from primary to secondary schooling. It has been developed for Year 6 pupils and their teachers and aims to equip the children with an understanding of the changes that are about to happen to them and to feel positive about them.
It also aims to help children feel good about learning and achieving, to help them deal with change and loss and to look forward positively to the many changes and opportunities that they will experience in education or training.
Finally, this resource aims to develop awareness in children that they should be engaged in education or training until they are 18 years old and to help raise their expectations and aspirations so that they will see this as an opportunity that will be of real benefit to them.
