Network Meetings This is a link to a DOC file. (544.50 KB)

Network meetings are dedicated to enabling teachers to meet and share good practice on all Healthy Schools-related issues.  It is also an opportunity for the team to update teachers with what’s new, for example resources or guidance.

The cross-phase meetings are held as twilight sessions, over a cup of tea, each term in the south, north-west and north-east of the county, with schools kindly offering to host.

National PSHE CPD Programme

This highly successful course, funded by the DCFS and Department of Health, provides accredited recognition of the participants knowledge, experience and skills related to teaching, learning and practice within PSHE.  Currently, it follows a programme over five separate days in the course of a year, during which teachers cover a range of topics, including national guidance and classroom practice, with particular emphasis on sex and relationship education, and drug, alcohol and tobacco education.  Course assessment is based on a teacher’s portfolio of evidence, linked to standards in the course handbook, demonstrating their competence in PSHE teaching.

Enrolment is invited in the summer term, in readiness for a start date early in the autumn term. However, specific details of the course are updated each year, and so interested teachers should contact the Healthy Schools Team for the latest news.

PSHE Training – Courses in Sex and Relationship Education and Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Education

Each year the Healthy Schools team, or linked organisations, provide training courses covering specific aspects related to PSHE.  These will vary from year to year as they are based on need.

In addition, we can offer support tailored to the needs of schools, which can address specific areas, such as the teaching in a Key Stage, policy development, or assisting in working with parents.

For training and support for sex and relationship education at KS3&4, contact the Sexual Health Education Team on 01905 681744.

The following courses are currently available.  To book your place, contact the Team.
