School INSET, external training courses and conference events are organised by the Training Coordinator for Learning Support.

School-based Training

Schools with a Learning Support Team SLA

As part of our Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Worcestershire schools we can offer training to schools, for all or specific groups of teaching and support staff or parents, as part of their core sessions. If part of core sessions there would be no charge for this. These sessions can include topical presentations on specific areas of need, practical interventions, resource displays, hands on workshops and ICT programs and tools.

Individual school’s training needs can be discussed initially at the regular meetings with the key contact member of the Learning Support Team staff assigned to the school or be arranged directly with the training coordinator. (See contact above) Schools can also purchase additional training sessions at very preferential rates.

It may be possible to offer joint training to a group of staff from a cluster of small schools.

Other schools and establishments

Other schools and establishments not purchasing our SLA as additional services can also purchase training. Please contact the training coordinator to discuss and negotiate terms. Please see page 2 of the SLA document  (3.11 MB) for guidelines of these additional INSET charges.

CPD Courses and Events

As well as school based training we offer a range of courses and events that are open to all schools and professionals. Schools with our SLA are usually charged at a preferential rate.

We also offer training for parents and carers but this is usually in liaison with the service concerned such as Parent Partnership.

Conferences

Our conferences over the last two years have been very well received, covering a variety of topics and usually include practical workshops as well as key presentations from national experts. They are always oversubscribed so book early to avoid disappointment.
