As a Local Education Authority Centre, Upton Warren Outdoor Education Centre is dedicated to providing high quality courses giving all clients opportunities to develop social skills and personal qualities. Parents and Guardians can be assured that every precaution is taken to ensure their children will be safe and secure at all times, whilst enjoying some of the best adventurous activities in the area.
Instruction at the Centre is carried out by a team of professional Outdoor Instructors. All group Instructors and Senior Staff have been trained and approved as competent by our Operations Manager in every activity they are permitted to instruct in. Where applicable they hold the appropriate National Governing Body Instructors award and ALL are first aid qualified at a high level. Ratios of Leaders and adults to children are appropriate to the activity being undertaken. |

Schools are asked to bring one staff member to every 15 children, although younger groups may demand more supervision.
Visiting Staff are expected to accompany groups to lend support and assistance to pupils whenever appropriate, although there is no requirement for them to actually undertake the activity themselves.
Students (and staff) are encouraged to venture outside of their comfort zone and attempt whatever they feel able to take part in. It may be necessary for visiting staff to provide pastoral support to pupils during activity sessions.
If vehicles are used to transport clients to and from activity sites, these will be leased from the County council Fleet Services. These are licensed as minibuses and are inspected on a regular schedule, and comply with the minibus regulations fully.
| The Centre has been inspected and is accredited by the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority (AALA) for all relevant in scope activities .Click here to visit their website | ![]() |
