The Councillor Infonet is produced to ensure that members of the County Council are provided with concise, frequent, interesting and pertinent information to enable them to operate effectively within the County Council and within their divisions.
A number of different Infonet bulletins are produced:
Weekly Infonet - information for members concerning the business transacted and to be transacted by the Council’s Committees and Panels plus forthcoming diary dates
Monthly Infonet - information and news concerning events, developments and initiatives across the County
Infonet Spotlight – has a district-based focus covering items of more local interest to members in their divisions: produced bi-monthly
Infonet Briefing – published on an ad hoc basis to inform members on urgent issues, either of local impact (e.g. schools, roads) or county-wide impact (such as the Foot and Mouth Outbreak)
District Spotlights - Information focussing on the work of the district based Local Strategic Partnerships and issues of more local interest and relevance to members in their divisions
Scrutiny News - Reporting on the work of the Overview and Scrutiny Steering Committee, the scrutinies being undertaken and the progress of previous scrutinies
Standards and Ethics Update - Reporting on the work of the Standards and Ethics Committee and on national developments
All Infonet bulletins are available both electronically and in hard copy. Copies are also circulated to a variety of agencies and stakeholders including the county's MPs, district councils, fire, police, health partners and the local media.
