Worcestershire is an excellent place in which to live and do business.

Worcestershire Source of ExcellenceThe county of Worcestershire is located south of Birmingham. Its transport infrastructure gives ease of access, while the balance of urban and rural environment offers a quality of life that is second to none. The County’s proximity to Birmingham is convenient for a range of business services, without the costs and congestion associated with the region’s capital.

Worcestershire has a population of over ½ million people and is home to over 21,000 companies, with 85% of these employing less that 10 people.

Many of the larger companies in the County are of national and international importance, flourishing in Worcestershire partly because of its strategic location. Companies like WS Atkins, Johnson Control Automotive and Misys Ltd have joined home grown market leaders such as English Braids and Sealine International.

Michael Brinton, Chairman of Brintons Carpets

"Brintons is an international company so location is crucial. We have been in Worcestershire for over 200 years and still favour Worcestershire as the base for our worldwide operation"

Worcestershire is a diverse County with a range of business strengths, in particular within the Food & Drink, Transport Technology and High-Tech Sectors. The development of the Birmingham-Worcestershire Technology Corridor will ensure Worcestershire becomes a prime location for high-tech companies.

The skilled workforce within and around Worcestershire is a key driver in attracting and retaining businesses. Many companies cite their labour force as a key reason for expanding locally and re-investing in Worcestershire.

HR Director, AT&T

"As an international company at the leading edge of voice and data communications technology, we can do business from anywhere in the world. We have chosen to stay in Worcestershire because it has the benefits of a high quality labour force, excellent travel links and, last but not least, is one of the most pleasant parts of the country in which to live"

Worcestershire’s environment and quality of life cannot be under estimated. The range of city and towns combine with rolling countryside and village locations to offer any combination of living and lifestyle. New developments around the County blend with the traditional and historic to offer a range of leisure experiences, from shopping to the Arts, dining out to walking.
