A fixed term 2-year contract to March 2011. We want to appoint a second motivated, experienced and resilient Parenting Lead to drive forward the development of parenting provision in Worcestershire. You will work with a wide range of professionals and agencies to improve access and quality of parenting. In addition to undertaking some direct delivery of evidenced based parenting programmes to support vulnerable parents with complex problems such as drug and alcohol dependency, mental health problems, or a disability, you will also provide support to other parenting practitioners. You will have direct experience of parenting and of supporting vulnerable families from within education, social care, health or the voluntary sector. You will also need to have facilitation and group work skills and experience and you will be able to prioritise your work load and operate on your own initiative. You will need to travel across the county so you should have access to your own transport and be willing and able to work flexible hours. The post will require an enhanced CRB check and applicants must be qualified to degree level or equivalent and if you feel able to meet this challenge, we would be delighted to hear from you. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, energetic and efficient support staff for the post of Head of House/Behaviour Manager at this 11 – 18, Voluntary Controlled, Church of England secondary school. The post is tenable from 1st January 2009 or as soon as possible. Applicants do not have to be practising Christians but must be willing to support the ethos and Christian character of the school. The successful applicant will be responsible for: the welfare, attendance and behaviour management of approx 250 students aged 11 – 16 and sixth-formers attached to the House, the administration associated with the above, providing up to 7 hrs per week of on-call support to teachers, encouraging student participation in school activity such as house competitions and building a strong sense of community.

You will be joining a specialist County Adoption Team with experienced and supportive colleagues. Our last inspection identified a good standard of service with some areas of excellence and in Worcestershire we are currently performing in the top band for adoptions of looked after children. The focus of the work will be on the assessment of adoptive applicants and their support up to 3 months post Adoption Order. You will also be working in conjunction with the child’s social worker in furthering the adoption plan for every child referred to the team. As an adoption social worker you will be key in finding an adoptive family for the child, looking both in- house and at national resources. The team also operates a duty system and undertakes non-agency adoption applications.You will be a qualified social worker, with experience of working with children and their families. It is essential that you possess sound assessment skills. We will offer you regular supervision with workload management and opportunities for specialist training and to gain experience in working across other specialisms of the Worcestershire Adoption Service to further your knowledge and personal development.
