Citizens' Panel

The Research and Intelligence Unit is responsible for running both the Worcestershire County and Worcester City Citizens' Panels. The Worcestershire Citizens' Panel is comprised of around 2,000 Worcestershire residents and takes place twice a year (Summer and Winter). The Worcester City Citizens' Panel is comprised of around 1,000 Worcester City residents and takes place at the same time as the Worcestershire Citizens' Panel. The purpose of the Panels is to give residents the potential to influence decisions that are made to help us to plan and improve our services.

Equality and Diversity

The equality and diversity pages contain a combination of legislative and statistical information on various different equality and diversity issues.

The Research and Intelligence Unit has recently produced a new report titled Gender and Ethnicity: Worcestershire’s Education and Labour Market This is a link to a PDF file. (848.66 KB).

Best Value Satisfaction Survey

As part of the Government’s Best Value improvement programme, all local authorities across the country are required to carry out a survey of residents to find out what people think of a range of services in their local area.

The surveys take place every three years, the first survey took place in the year 2000, the next in 2003 and we have just completed the 2006 survey.

Regional Lifestyles Survey

The Regional Lifestyles Survey was completed in 2005, the results tell us some interesting things about the people living in our County. The survey took place across the whole of the West Midlands and was co-funded by a number of regional and sub-regional partners including Worcestershire County Council and public health organisations. Topics covered in the survey include healthy eating, exercise, smoking and drinking.

The Active People Survey

The Active People Survey is the largest single survey of sport and active recreation ever undertaken in Europe and provides more detail on sports participation than any previous research. It was commissioned by Sport England and provides statistical information about the levels of participation in sport and active recreation in England.
